What's This Wire?

While doing an odometer gear replacement and wiper reversal on my '87 Carrera, I found a wire (brown/white) hanging loose behind the blower assembly. It could have been there before I started working, or I could have pulled it loose from somewhere, but it's not obvious from where. This wire is mostly brown with a thin white stripe, and it is close to the wires coming off the backs of the speedometer guage, but could be from anywhere in that area, I guess. Anybody have a clue?
Thanks,

Don Ivey

That light is operational (and annoying). The seat belt control unit sounds likely, but is there a problem if it is left unattached? Thanks for the help.

If everything functions, ignore it. On the shift light, clip it and it's no longer a problem.
