Amzoil Z-Rod
Anyone had the chance to try this yet ? It is fairly new, has increased levels of ZDDP, is designed for flat tappet cams, high performance cars and vehicles that sit a long time without being driven. I does come in a 20W - 50.
No, I'm not selling it, just curious. Seems like it has some potential in my SC. Thanks |

I've been using 20W-50 Amsoil ARO for a few years now. I'm due for an oil change soon so I went to the Amsoil web site to see if anything has changed. That's when I came accross the new Z-Rod. It looks like Z-Rod really addresses the needs of the older 911's. A local gas/service station is also an Amsoil distributor. I stopped in 2 weeks ago and asked about Z-Rod and he has never heard of it, but he said if Amsoil makes it he can order it.

Looks like it's about $3.50 less per quart than the Mobil One VTwin 20w50, on the Amzoil site. Any time I can save $40.00 I will. Naturally I just bought a case of the VTwin
