Triangle of Death

It's finally arrived. The time has come. The leaks have started.

1) can I reach the oil pressure switch, the crankcase vent, and the oil thermostat with only a partial drop of the engine? (Will I rip all the skin off my arms attempting this?)

2) how far can I drop the engine and still count it as a "Partial" drop without having to disconnect everything?

Thanks in advance.

What year car?

On my 87, I was able to drop it about 2-3 inches and then removed air filter box. This gave me very good access to everything back there. STEAL your lady's hand mirror to see what your doing.

Pretty easy job.

Removing the airbox on an 87 is very different from removing part or all of the CIS on your car. Less working room than the Carrera. Drop is probably a lot easier.

Have a Bentley Manual for an SC?

Engine Drop.

On the SC's I believe that an engine drop is mandatory for your concerns.

But, while you are in there, you may want to:

1. Replace the fuel lines.

2. Replace the vaccum lines.

3. Replace the Sound absorbent P/N 964-126-125-20

I'm certain that others will chime in.

Good luck,

Gerry
