BFG g-force rivals

Just put a set of these on the car and already I am totally impressed.

Now I'll give them a few miles and see what happens, but my first impressions are....

(keep in mind I went from Firestone wide ovals 205/45/16 fronts and 245/50/16 rears to 225/45/17 and 255/45/17)

Turn in is more crisp, less understeer and better steering wheel feedback.

Forward bite is increased a good 20% if not more. Also feels like less squat and more forward motion. (probably the shorter sidewall)

My "test" curves are faster and more predictable. Where I used to exit ~45 mph, I'm now at 55 mph. And with less pucker factor.

And to top it all off, the ride seems more firm and more comfortable. I'm really surprised by this, I figured the shorter sidewalls would have done the opposite. (this is even backed up by my wife and was noticed within the first mile with her)

Now again, time will tell but hopefully this tire will be around for awhile.

I have a set on my car, great street tires (BFG does not suggest for street use); I only have 1K miles on them so far. Nice ride due to sidewall design, crisp cornering, great traction.

Where did you see they didn't recommend for street use? Tirerack reps said they are for street use. I had to ask to be certain, just looking at the tread pattern.

Correspondence with BFG via email:
"This tire is not designed for the long haul. It is a racing tire."

This tire is designed for use in racing classes requiring a wear rating of 200 or more.
However, I use it as a street tire.

Interesting.

I guess we'll just have to break their rules. Because I'm not taking them off.

I had heard the tire was designed to meet the scca 7/32" rule.

Mine will show up on Tuesday. 225/45 & 255/40-17's. Have the RT-615 on the car now. Can't wait to see how they compare. Mine are for street, auto-x and will use for track as well.
