Did this car actually appreciate in value? Take new car price + All service done on car since owning = Formulated asking price. Actually, I was ready to bid until I found out it had been waxed with Blitz wax.

Good thing you specified that. The number of people here with $82K to drop on a car is huge, and you definately are going to need a fair way of sorting through all of the e-mails you receive offering to buy the car.

Hmmm. 67k is the high on these cars. Nice examples like yours trade in the 60's all day long. What, will this degree cost 80k or something? Need 2k left over for Christmas shopping? Even bumping you up to 70 for nice car, and extra 5 for properly torqued lug nuts, you've still got 7k to go...'96 TT's are dropping below 100k now my friend.

Heh. I got into a MS program and had to sell my Carrera. I got a hell of a lot more than it was worth for it- 1000 more than I paid for it 3 years and 20k miles later- and it took me 18 months to get it. You just have to decide what you want- your asking price- (long shot) or cash now. I held out and got the cash. Of course I was only trying to get 21k for a 19k car...

Good luck! With your sale and your studies. What will you study?

Was the Detailing Dynamics Tire Dressing applied directly onto the tires or onto an applicator first?
Kidding aside, its a gorgeous car, but, as noted above, the price seems pretty far outside of the current market range for these cars, IMHO.
In any event, good luck!

I was at the Mecum auction in Elkhart Lake last night, and thought some of the results would be of relevance/interest to this topic...

'96 Twin Turbo, burgundy with tan leather, 17K miles, could have used a good detailing, but appeared to be a straight car overall (no info was available on the torque ft/lb settings of the lug nuts, however) sold for $80K before buyer's premium.

Interesting also because on the block immediately after the TT was a '99 996 Coupe, special order dark green metallic with tan leather, 8K miles, essentially a new car. Bidding stalled at $50K, not meeting the reserve of $55K. Acceptance of the 996 may still take some time?

In any event, as noted above, good luck selling your C2S. Had to have been a difficult decision to make.

White wheels maybe nice for a CW kinda car. If you have semi agressive pads you will be cleaning them ever 20 miles.....
