Help needed - Clutch helper spring

In trying to replace my clutch helper spring so that my wife can drive the car while I'm gone (deploying to Kandahar in two weeks), I'm a bit stuck.

Pulled the old broken spring off, reassembled the arm, and everything appears ok . But, in the process of reassembly I've got a few problems:

- the clutch pedal was depressed, and now is flat on the floor;
- the new spring is physically larger than the older, and I cannot get it to seat, so cannot get the arm back into its seemingly correct position;
- I'm not sure if, once the arm is seated, if the clutch itself will function....

Basically, I'm stumped, and could used some "real time" help!

You seem to have the spring on wrong, flip it over. Here is a pic of the correct setup.

Ahhhh, thank you. I'll flip it tomorrow morning - much appreciated!

Make sure the spring is against the heat exchanger, when flipped, it will also go in another position which you can rectify with a large screwdriver.
