How to engage intermittent wipers?

Okay, I give! How do I turn on my intermittent wipers? I turn the little knob and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Could be a switch issue I suppose but I want to make sure I understand exactly how to use them.

they won't work if the regular wiper switch internal contacts that allow the wipers to park don't contact when the regular switch is in the off position. there are other reasons, but that's the most common. no park = no intermittents. they can be tweeked though.

If you are waiting for anyone else to answwer, Forgetaboutit! There is nothing or very little to say after a certain person answers! I do know one thing, that the NEW potentiometers had a Metal Shaft! Removing my Old Dash cover I broke mine that had a Plastic / Nylon Shaft only to find out that Porsche knew they were weak and now makes them with a Metal Shaft! Cost over $100 also!

Okay! Now I see. With the main switch in the off position I had to nudge it forward about a billometer and then the intermittents work!
