78 911 SC G Light Flickering at Stop

Hello All

I recently became the proud owner of a 78SC, I have worked a lot of kinks out of it, though assume this will be a work in progress for the rest of my time with the little lady. Anywise, this morning on my way to work I noticed that the g light would light up when I came to a stop then turn off as soon as I accelerated. This happened multiple times on the drive. Would love some thoughts on what the issue is.

Also, in the last few weeks I noticed that my clock runs fine while the car is running, but when I leave the car overnight it eventually stops running. Not sure if these two issues could at all be related.

Thanks

The issue with the generator light sounds like your alternator is on the way out. It could just be a loose fan belt, but I would bet on the alternator. Do you have a voltmeter that you can install into the car?

First, remove and clean/burnish the battery post/connections. Also check tighten the front/battery to rear/alternator inter-connection at the starter motor solenoid.
