short-term paint question

The clearcoat on the hood and top of my car is peeling a little. I also noticed that there is a small amount of rust near the hood badge. One day I will correctly repaint the entire car, but I would like some advice for the short term.

I'm thinking of removing the hood and stripping it myself, then having a professional match the paint. I'm not comfortable stripping the top, though (sunroof, seals, etc.). Should I pay someone to strip it, or is there a primer that will bind the clearcoat and keep it from deteriorating underneath the new paint? Other ideas?

Thanks!

Post your question here. This is a quality Paint BBS in the same way PP is a quality Porsche BBS.
