LS Recaro installation 911

What type and height spacers are typicaly used to install old LS Recaro seats in a 74 to 87 911. Appears a 1 3/4 spacer is required using Porsche sliders. Has anyone used square tubing for this application? If so what size worked well.
Many thanks!

While you can fabricate the seat bracket, Recaro makes one that does the same thing. However, they're pricey.

No spacers are required to install the LS seats in a '74-'83 car. Later models may use small ones.

You can use the Porsche OEM sliders or better yet, the Recaro double-locking ones.

the square risers that Recaro makes are somewhat involved. They have captive nuts welded inside them to accept the stock seat bolts in the correct locations for the sliders, and they are stepped towards the ends to allow you reinstall the original seat belt receivers - if you so chose.
They are also very heavy - but that problem is easily solved.

Wow Bill, that is about what I need. I need those spacers to raise my butt or get a periscope. Perhaps 1.5" aluminum square tubing would be the ticket..yeah.
Thanks for the responses!

Not to thread jack but while you have the seats out i would highly suggest replacing the diaphragms - we sell our own new diaphragms that come with a lifetime warranty.

Rather then the cheap original design we make our diaphragms with a military grade canvas and woven rubber webbing. We also triple stitch to ensure that they will stay together forever.
