tach wiring

I have a 1970 911T 2.2L in my vw bus.
I have aquired a 6v early porsche tach that i would like to use but i have no idea how to wire this thing.I am running an MSD 6a box can anyone help me with this?

Well it's a noble idea but surely you are not running 6v in your bus? If you could provide 6v then you would connect the middle terminal to the wire that goes to the points. I would bet that a 6v tach is for a 356 flat 4 not a 911 flat 6 so your tach will be getting 50% more pulses and would read higher revs than real. That tach belongs in an early Porsche, set it free so it can go to a good home. You need a 12v 6 cylinder tacho.

Thanks. I am running 12 Volt but i have a 6 volt converter that i can hook up in line.
Having said that ,it doesn't sound like it will work for my engine anyhow.
I guess i will sell it. Any idea what it's worth?
