Rotor for MSD Ignition

I read through the 3 page thread on melting rotor when used with MSD but could not follow which would be the best choice for my application.

I've got Bosch dizzy 0-231-169-008 from a 73.5 911T with a Petronix ignitor and MSD ignition and Magnecore wires.

I'd prefer a reference to a Bosch part that does not require alteration (if that exists/912 rotor?). I don't want the crap shoot with NAPA unless of course that is the only option for a 911T application.

Thanks for the help!

Anybody? I want to place an order here on Pelican for the correct rotor today so it will go out tomorrow if possible.

I think some of the old VW rotors are a solid non resisted type. Look into them , I do not remember the years. 70s ?

I bought the one at NAPA, works great.

get brass contacts, they last much longer than Alum.

oh yeah, I burned a rotor because "someone" "Young and dumb" put never-seize on plug threads,[no , or little ground contact]!!!!just a drop of oil! and keep stuff out of plug holes, I have vacuumed plugs before pulling.

I never had a problem with the Bosch one from PP... I kept using the stock rotor and distributor cap

Buy the Napa EP407. $3.99 each....Works just fine...

I see comments about using the Bosch rotor from PP but I don't even see one listed here that isn't RPM limiting for a 911T. We talking about the correct engine application?

pelican has sold me a bunch of them over the years

they up-graded their pn to 055-905-225B-M5014

in May 2010 I paid $6/ea
