Rim resto-pics

I have finished the resto of a set of R rims, 6&7X15, feel like sharing.
Before-beadblasted, primered, painted (basically ugly):

After, stripped, checked, hand polished, anodised, painted ( my arms are still sore from the polishing):

OK, I'll give you $500 for the set - and not a penny more!

Actually, those are fantastic looking George! -- Curt

Great job. I re-did a set of RUF wheels last winter. I'm not sure I'll do it again next time. It's a LOT of elbow grease. I must have put over 100 hours into them... but I have to admit that they look great!

George, Nice job!
I have a set of Fuchs I'm planning on stripping and painting as well.
What did you use to strip? I was thinking about having them bead blasted but didn't know if that would pit the surface of the alum.
Any tips on the procedure?
Thanks,

Great job, George!

I know those early 6's have small, radial reinforcement ribs running outwards from the spokes towards the inner rim edge. Do the 'R' wheels have the same type of ribs? Any closeup pics of the back side, showwing the junction of the spokes and rim???

Warren,
The back of the rim shows the same ribs as on the narrower ones, the ribs being on all the tube-type Fuchs rims. Here is a pic.

I went to the lengths of reproducing the pattern of the paint process on the back.
