Engine builders please help
 

So I decided to slow down the oil leaks on my '77 targa. removed the fuel injection/intake system and fan shroud to access the "triangle". What I found, I hope,
is a pleasant surprise. I have no history on this car or engine.
My question is this: Are these case savers (or time certs). I was able to touch with a magnet and they are steel ( a magnet will stick to them apart from the stud) All opinions are appreciated.

"Most" pros use timecerts on a 2.7.
