A quick Turn signal / hazard question...
Have replaced my turn signal / flasher switch, lights now have hi/low beam, but indicators have stopped working :(! After spending too much time at the weekend upside down in the footwell, think the problem is the black/green/white wire from the signal switch - where should this go? Looking at the wiring diagrams in Bentley etc., looks like it should go to the hazard switch, but can't see anything obvious? Didn't notice taking it off the old one, but was concentrating on the connections to the main light switch. Car is an '85 RHD (UK), hazard switch in dash next to ignition.

On my '75 there is definitely a wire to the hazard. Not sure what color. I do know that I found it disconnected and once reattached, my flashers worked. It's been about 3 years now since I fooled with it, so can't add much more than that. I think there's some old threads in the forum that talk about this, because that's how I figured out what was wrong and where the wire went.
Good luck. |
You may want to check your fuses, I was once under there working and accidentally crossed a connection, dident even realize i did it and blew a whole bunch of fuses. When i was done working, nothing worked and i was puzzled for hours something possessed me to check the fuses, 2 min later it was all fixed.

Cheers guys - don't think it's fuse as battery disconnected and hazard flashers work fine, but will double check. Think I'll have to pull all the wiring out again to get better access and have a closer look at the hazard switch.
