Fellow Canadians - what are you paying for Insurance on 911
Hey guys,
Just curious what you are paying for Insurance on your 911's and if there are any companies that offer a 'classic' rate for these cars. I am with Allstate at the moment and have 3rd party, fire and theft and pay about $700 a year. Seems a little high with no collision and this the fourth car on our policy. My wife and I are in our late 30's with clean driver's abstract and no accidents., living in Alberta. Thanks.......Alan |

I am with Silver Wheels which is part of Aviva Ins. I am paying $250.00 a year - all inclusive! Silver Wheels does have restrictions though - the big thing is don't drive it to work and daily driver rules.

I pay about $375 for a collector plate from ICBC. That covers the plate, driving on the road for six months, collision, and a storage policy for the remaining six months. I realize you can't use ICBC but it may give you something to compare to. When I lived in Alberta (20 years ago) my premium on my DD was less than half than what it was in BC but I have heard from friends that has all changed. Cheers

I'm insured with INTACT. I have an agreed value covering my car with a $250 deductible, two million liability, coverage is for 12 months. $326 per year. Three vehicles on my policy; my wife has her own insurance. There are no restrictions on my vehicle use.

I pay about $130 a year with Silver wheels. Full coverage including collision with agreed value. My DD insurance company couldn't insure the 911 with collision at all.

Hagerty Classic Insurance.
Agreed value. I don't think it is much more than $250 for the full year. Much easier than changing over to parking insurance while it is in the garage. Lots of restrictions though. Edit: Call John White at Palliser Insurance if you are in Calgary.

ok - it seems I am overpaying as I thought. Allstate was good but they have gone to the dogs lately on prices. Have already sent an email to Silver Wheels.

Did the insurance companies require appraisals?

Little update - got an appraisal on my car and my yearly rate is now $204 for full collision - based on an appraised value of $20,000. There are some restrictions but nothing too bad. I was paying close to $700 and no collision so this is a HUGE savings. Insurance company is Competition in Edmonton and the policy is called Silver Wheels for those interested.
