Paint depth for older Single Stage Paint Porsche

Does anyone know what the mil depth should be for a 1976 single stage paint? I have a couple of persons interested in the car and I am in search of a mil gauge. Thank you, in advance.

Hk, I would assume it's around 1.5 - 2.0 mils.

Might be more than that counting primer and multiple color coats. Buy or borrow a Mil gauge, then measure a sample of cars manufactured around that time for an average thickness. My seat-of-the-pants guestimate is 5-7 mils, but again, that's a WAG. Unless a repaint included everything, try measuring the underside of the hood/decklid or other innocuous location.
