Dolly to transport a 911
I have seen different dollies to transport a 911.
I need to build a dolly to send a 911 to the paint shop. I have seen some in this forum but I cannot find them. The 911 does not have the suspension, engine and transmission. Can you post pictures of a dolly that you have built ? Where should the 911 rest on this dolly. How should I anchor it ? My plan is to use this dolly in a trailer to take it to the shop. |

I'm using gravity to hold my 68 on this cart. You would probably want to secure it with tack welds or bolt straps down for moving by trailer. Rests on the torsion tube in the back and the cross member mounts in the front.

I ordered a "universal" kit from Summit (or Jegs)....of course it was sized for a '65 Impala, but I cut it down to size and was able to bolt it to underside of the 911 using existing holes.....just 4 bolts...it has made 3 trips on the tilt-back with no problems

We have one that we use for cars with no suspension, it grabs the front and rear torsion area, on a 356, but you could easily make one for a 911, just make sure you strap it down tight.

I've used two of these under my car to move it around. Granted I didn't go any great distance and the small wheels made it a bit more work to get it up the ramp into my trailer. But it worked just fine for a short trip. Strapped the car to the dollys with really good ratchet straps to keep it secure
