US Bumper changes 74-89

I'm not talking about the lower valances, ect, but just the bumpers themselves.

Any changes through the years? Rub strip, mounting location ect.?

Could Mid 80's bumpers be used on a mid 70's resto and be "correct"?

TIA

Ferg

PET shows three part numbers covering those years
FRONT:
911 505 011 10 ...74-76
911 505 011 12 ...77-86
911 505 011 19 ...87-89
I'm guessing the brackets behind get changed to accommodate later iterations of the oil lines, coolers, horns, fuel overflow tanks, washer fluid tanks, and headlight washers.
REAR:
930 505 012 05 ...74-77
930 505 112 01 ...78-89
the 74 rear was unique in that it only had two holes for the euro bumperettes

that being said, the average concours judge would not be able to tell the difference, as the appearance remained identical through the years.

hopefully others more knowledgeable will chime in.

Didn't the front bumpers for '87-up have intake slots on the right side for the oil cooler? That may be the difference between the 77-86 and 87-89.
