Daring??

I posted a pic last summer of my 16 year old son leaving the driveway on his first solo in the 944.
Well, Sunday morning I didn't feel like going to church. So I let him and his 13 year old brother take the 911 to services.
He did real well, said it certainly shifts differently from his 944.
This is the first time I have ever seen my car in motion. Looked real nice, but kinda scary.
He was thrilled to get into the seat of the 911 though. Worth the pins and needles.
Sorry about the long shot, no zoom on my digi.

It always makes me feel funny to watch someone else drive my 911. I get that queasy feeling as they drive away.
Then again, I get to see how truly "Cool" I must look whilst driving about.

Robert,

Expecting the 'best' to and from church doesn't sound too risky or daring to me!

As you are already aware, parenting methods vary greatly. My parents provided a positive environment with expectations for the best and very few rules or confrontations over the years. Leading or inspiring by example is much easier than forcing conformity to artificial rules that the parents don't play by themselves ... as the breeders of many of society's miscreants prove every day!

I suspect that you don't have much trouble inspiring good behavior in your son! I'm also sure that trips to PCA events at TWS will give him the right inspiration as to where the best outlet is for high-speed antics in 911s or 944s is, too. Good show!

It's really cool to watch your own car drive down the street. I haven't don this but it would be cool. What's even more cool is that you have apparently raised your kids with good moral values.

But why do I have visions of Ferris Bueller's Day Off and the car lot parking attendant scene . . .

Cool

If my dad let me do that I would never missed a day of church as a young teenager. I would looking for some after church activities as well. Then maybe take the pastor to lunch before coming home..

I think of my p-car wrench as church. It's the same thing really.
You go in with problems, spend a lot of money, and sometimes go away feeling complete.

Often you leave your loved one all alone with some strange fellow that's reputable, but you never know what's going to go on behind the closed doors.

Flame suit on... I'll need it if there is a hell!

Porsche Crest Weird feeling...

Yeah, it is a weird feeling, like someone is taking your wife\girlfreind out for 'just coffee'.
One thing though, you get to hear your exhaust in a way that you never did before. It's interesting to get someone else's view on how your car drives, stops, corners, etc. they might hear noises, that you don't...
Nice car, you're filthy rich aren't you???

Well Rick, your half right. I'm filthy. Been mowing the lawn that goes along with that driveway. LOL. Rich? No. I am GE's answer to the Maytag man.

I've only let a couple people drive my car, but these days, when I need service work, I get to see my mechanic drive it. I drive up to the shop(@4 miles) pick up Pete we drive back to my place whilst I explain the expected service to be done(and he tells me how nice my car is) and then he drives back to the shop. Kinda like a valet for service VERY cool! And yes its a weird( but interesting) feeling seeing your car driving off with out you.

Last time I watched my car roll down the street nobody was driving it! It just rolled down the street went through the neighbour’s fence, the garden…the garage…and landed in their driveway on its boot facing the sky. Reminded me a bit of a dog sitting up on its hind legs waiting for a bone!

Those damm Alfa handbrakes, they never worked!
