Wayne, the new articles look great. You certainly have been busy lately! Have you asked your wife, "Have you been feeling neglected at all recently?"

I just noticed that our IPs are now showing up. Another of the changes?

Well, if some of you babies stopped playing around with all this OT crap that I have to clean up, and instead put it in the OT forum, then I would have more stuff for you to look at. But instead I had to clean thru the BS on the 911 forum this morning.

I don't mind an occassional off-topic post, but some of these have been stupid and rediculous. If you have an OT post to make, do it in the OT forum, and let's keep this focused on the 911...

Wayne,

Since you can store but not display IP's on this BBS, which you probably do, then you can look up who posts what. Simple to map IP to UserName, especially if there was a "legit" post in the same session as a BS post.

So who are the perps in the Edwin Leong saga?

Maybe I don't want to know

Good in theory, poor in practice. People that use a modem to get to internet, get an address assigned each time they dial. It is unlikely they will get the same address. If another user is on the same ISP, it is possible for them both to have the same address shown for a post (but not at the same time, of course).

I myself post regularly from 3 different addresses, 2 from home, 1 from work.

Wayne, any chance you can set up the server to truncate any spaces in file names? Netscape doesn't display any images with spaces in the file name. Those of us who resist assimilation to the Microsoft collective will be very grateful.

If this is not possible, can you at least make a warning when files are uploaded not to have spaces in the filenames, so that they will be displayed properly for ALL platforms?

Thanks,

Tom

Question

So, Wayne, where do we get the book? (or is that when??)
Dave (waiting with bated breath for the book and a car to use it on)
