sportomatic oil change

hey i have an 81 sc sporto. 3.0L
i want to change the oil in the car... does anyone know how much oil it takes?
do i follow normal procedures like a 5 speed manual.
also is the oil in the sporto connected with the engine oil?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

If you have the owners manual..It should tell you. If not, call Pelican and ask.

As I recall my 1974 sporto 911 motor oil went through the torque converter (that's why my engine oil would overheat at the track). I used to just change the oil as in a normal 911. Drain from both the oil tank and engine case, change the oil filter & refill. I think I would start with 8 quarts. I'd check the oil level once it was warmed up and idling. Top off as needed. You never really change all the oil because you can't drain the oil from the torque converter, oil cooler & associated lines.
