What does "M10" on 82 SC Piston Mean?

Does anyone know what an "M10" marking at the base of the cylinders on an 82 SC means? I spotted the markings today during routine checking, and I think it might help me learn more about the history of the engine.

Thanks,

Olivier

Anyone know this? I know I have seen that code somewhere before, but none of the posts I have found here list its meaning.

Does it mean they are Mahle cylinders, or that they are of a particular size?

Thanks,

Olivier
