1979 911 SC Interior Color Change
Does anyone have experience changing the color of the knee pad and other plastic trim pieces in a 911 interior? Specifically, I would like to dye the tan pieces in my interior black to match the dash face. What dye works best? Should I have an interior shop perform the work?

I believe most of trim pieces in an SC are vinyl. I think your best bet would be to use would be a vinyl paint. You can buy black vinyl paint in a rattle can at your local automative shop such as Pep Boys, Western Auto, Auto Zone, etc. Lowes and HD sell it also.

seats are going to show through eventually, because they flex so much but you'll get a couple years if you do them right ( there is leather paint also. brillo.) |

I used Leatherique on mine anywhere there was something I couldn't change easily, so the B pillars, knee pads, and dash were on that list.
It's been a couple of years and has held up great so far.
