Footage of the car -- on the dyno!

Last week we took a video camera with us to film what we thought was going to be a momentous event!

Here's a brief clip of the car on the dyno, minus the air box!

Damn.

Pity I'm not able to view this footage, Matt. These free "Internet Computers" at the hotel have trouble even receiving email!

I'm sure it's stirring stuff!

Thumbs up

Awesome. Love the sound of a flat-6 at high rpm.

Cool

Matt...thanks for the clip....beautiful paint color for a street machine..clean/low key/stealth attracts no PD attention. Good basis for a deadly street machine..

Damn I love that sound. Is it the 210 HP RS engine you have?

I consider myself pretty good at english, but I don't understand a word of what the good man is saying towards the end of the clip???

Very cool. I have no idea what the hell he's saying at the end. All I could make out was "deown a beet" at the end.

Adam,

It'd be a lot more stirring if the engine had been taken to redline, and was developing 240-250bhp at that engine speed!

Targa77,

Just to think, there was a another 1,300rpm left!

RoninLB,

I've since added a black 'Carrera RS' decklid decal to each front fender, so I've negated the sleeper effect of the paint color!

Alex,

How about a Quicktime version?

Mikkel,

Well, we thought the engine was going to develop between 240-250bhp, but because of the 11.3:1 CR, it's only developing 200bhp at 6,000rpm. We're going to be dismantling the engine in a couple of weeks so we can lower the CR to 9.8:1. After that, it should develop 230bhp at 6,500-6,800rpm, and then 240-250 once we modify the air-intake system and the muffler.

Kurt, Mikkel,

This is what John, my mechanic, says at the end of that clip:

"Still a bit tight. The engine is still a bit tight. I do think those pistons slow the engine down a bit."

You know, he's right!

Matt

What are you planning for the intake?? And the muffler? Twin outlet (the sports style)? It would sound even better then...

Thanks.

Cam,

The plan is to replace the air box with foam socks, and to add a second tailpipe to the muffler!
