Ft. Lauderdale Shop Recommendations
My 87 Coupe is arriving tomorrow from Pennsylvania and I'd like to be able to count on a good Porsche shop here in the Ft. Lauderdale area. I know that Champion is 15 minutes away, but a dealership is a dealership...high prices and someone has to pay for that beautiful facility they have. Any suggestions?

Unless a local chimes in contact the local PCA.
As to the 'Stealer' what makes you think they would stoop to servicing your ride? I don't any do air cooled engines anymore. God forbid a 914, 356 or even the wasser pumper 924/44 or 928.....

I work next to Champion Porsche in Pompano but only buy parts there I cant get from our host. As for a good shop, I use Orbit Racing in Palm Beach, the owner Rodger has built many an engines for the Rolex races and knows our cars even better then Champion. About a 50 min. drive from you, if you are interested I can send you the address and Tel.

I used Gulf for a long distance PPI on a car I ended up not buying. I thought he did a good job, but took a while. He had the car for almost a week IIRC. The car had a rebuild motor and aftermarket parts and wanted to talk to the mechanic that did the work, but that mechanic was part of a race team as was away at the track. Since the owner didn't need the car back, Gulf waited to complete the PPI until the other mechanic returned.

As for the SW chip, the experts on this forum all agree it is the best single upgrade you can possibly do for our cars. Its an upgrade you will actually feel and easy to do. As for the Fabspeed exhaust, I believe its a matter of taste in the way you like your car to sound. Not a real upgrade, just awesome sound and it is very well constructed and the exhaust tips look good.

I have used Vinnie at Gulf many times. He is very good.
For my racing and very special street needs I only use 901 Shop in Stuart.

KMW motorsports in boca raton
They work on street cars and do lots of race cars also They have built several street cars. 3.6 conversions and are fair priced and know what they are doing

I like Vinnie @ Gulf but my allegiance is with Kevin @ KMW. More than fair prices and all about the air cooled cars. USP is more into the newer cars.
