Cool Tuthill Porsche 911 Ice Driving Video: Cool!

Hi all,

My friends at Tuthill Porsche in the UK have just uploaded a new video ahead of their Norway Ice Driving School for this year. Superb photography and lots of Porsche drifting over a frozen lake near Geilo, Norway.

We'll be returning from our attempt on the East African Safari Classic Rally with Björn Waldegård driving one of three of our 911s for Race4Change.org and heading straight to Norway for fun on the ice. Talk about opposites!

I know lots of parts of the US are under snow now, so maybe this will inspire a few people to shoot something similar - would love to see it! More Norway Ice Driving details on the Classic Porsche Blog & I hope you like the video.

Well it's not really the same.... but we are gearing up for ice racing season around here. Check out the close ratio gears in our ice car!

Also, to keep the 911 content, apparently a 911 makes a good ice racer:

No doubt this car made it up here to race our "local" event once a year.

Reminds me of when I was a kid and drove my 56 Ford around the cattle sale parking lot after a snow fall. This will really teach you how to drive in "foul" weather. I'd love to do this on a solid frozen lake course. No trees to hit and no big ice berms to crash into. Would be great to get the exact feel of what the car will do or won't do.

I would love to drive the frozen lake...not sure about the forest stage in the snow.

I just looked at Vic Elford's High Performance Driving Handbook - The chapter on driving in unusual conditions. Entering a corner almost backwards might take some practice...

I think I would farking love it on a frozen lake. :-)

The story of Vic crossing the Donner pass during a snowstorm in a turbo and BS-ing the chain control is great.

Love those Tuthill guys, that looks excellent.
