914s are such fantastic cars! Mine is a 1.7. Love that car to death. Once you race one, it's easy to fall in love!

Lot of support for the 914/6 at 914world.com - A Porsche 914 Community / Forum / Club
Welcome to the madness. |
Congrats, Scott. Finally pulled the trigger. A friend of mine spotted your caravan on the road and sent me some pics. Looking forward to seeing it in person.

Thanks for the warm welcome for the six. Since it has a 911 motor, a full 911 front end and other 911 bits, I guess it may somewhat fit within the parameters of this forum.
My old car was only sold a couple of months ago. I owned it at the time of the last Parts Obsolete camp out, but unfortunately I was unable to attend. So no, my '65 was not there. The interior is pretty stock. Last night, I pulled the more modern Momo Corse wheel out and installed my flat early Prototipo along with a more classic shift knob from Gary Emory in place of a satin Momo Race knob. Both the old wheel and knob will be for sale soon. No new pics yet, but here is an older pic: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads...1220410785.jpg I don't like the stock seats, which are stock vinyl seats and not the cloth seats pictured. Since the stock seats are not supportive enough, I am currently researching seats for size and fitment in a 914. For those that don't know me, I tend to swap out seats for more support, while including my own little spin on the interior in order to fit my taste, which is very simple. Thanks Mike for the tip on the other forum. I have been using that forum a lot in the last few months in my pursuit. Heads up to the locals...the six will be at our monthly XXX meet this weekend. Congratulations Scott, looks like a nice one. Looking forward to seeing the updates as you make it yours.

Congratulations! A very nice buy. I also love the story of how you got it home and I am glad both you and the car made it without further incident.
I snoozed on a 914 locally this summer and I am still kicking myself about it. It was a nice driver, the only thing wrong with it was the headlights did not open. $1700 and I hesitated, it was gone fast. But I guess I can't complain, since at the end of the summer I bought a second 911 (1973.5 911T with a 2.7S engine). 914 are nice, especially the ones with 911 mods. Enjoy your new car. Cheers, Kay |

Besides, the Skipper was driving his newly finished 3.0 transplant for the first time, and Gilligan, well... he's frightening under the best of circumstances. I wish he would stick to his minivan. So, it was best to take it easy. We'll let you get some wheels and tires under her, and some miles under your belt. Should be about time for the Turkey Hangover run by then. Then we'll talk turkey... ;) |
that is a VERY sweet teener. Definitely a keeper
|
scott you can try out my GTS LeMans if you like. that is what i had in my teener and was what they designed as a "sport" seat for the 914's. should bolt right up to the stock seat rails.

Dude! When did the 911 go away? ..or do you still have it?
Very cool acquisition. Always wanted a hot rod 914 myself. You've had some great cars my friend! |
Scott, I have a pretty decent stock 914 knob at home, if you're interested.

914/6
I had a chance to look over the Scott's new 914/6. It does look to be a very nice one. Nice stealth vehicle. Congrats again Scott. I've come close to putting a 914/6 together more than once. One of the better configurations, in my opinion.
al see you at the XXX.....hopefully the rain will hold off, so I can check out the new ride in the daylight. |
Beautiful car. The 914s are really starting to appeal to me...

Thanks for the compliment about my cars. I like to think that each car was a great car in it's own way. |
