Weber tall manifolds - my homegrown approach

I've been looking at options for tall manifolds for webers to help out with the torque. my first try was using aluminum 2 inch turbo blocks as spacers on the heads, but it's been a headache to find the right length of studs.

then I found a guy on ebay who does spacer blocks. he had three pairs left over from another run. 2 inches tall and 40mm bore. I'll take the studs off the manifolds and bolt the blocks between the carbs and the manifolds.

my thought is to increase the intake runner length to increase bottom end torque. here's what the set-up will look like. any thoughts/input? thanks, Don.

Manifold spacers

Pretty cool, maybe a little linkage doctoring. What about the engine lid. May have to leave it propped open like the VW guys or use a tail. Pretty tall. Dave

lid clearance is Ok. may need to notch the back of one rainhat to fit it over. working on linkage, pretty easy actually. just a 2 inch vertical offset with some more rod.

Looks similar to high butterfly injection , dimension wise. Looking forward to your driving impression.
