Question A Brakes Upgrade ?

Please help me with this ?

Hi,

I´m considering to upgrade my brakes to A type.

Everyone told me that I need to buy a complete front suspension
1.- why ?
2.- Can I only change the struts with all the brake system ?

Let me know
regards

Eduardo

Eduardo,
the M caliper struts have a 3" spacing between the caliper mounting bolts, and all the other Porsche calipers (well, all that I am aware of, maybe some of the newer calipers are different) have 3.5" spacing. You might be able to get someone to weld a mounting point at 3.5" on your current uprghts, but you might just have to get uprights with 3.5" bolt spacing.

Eduardo,
I upgraded my brakes from "M" to 930 calipers and rotors. The only mandatory change was the strut to have the correct spacing. The existing ball joint and A-arms were compatible with the new struts.
