Question re: Rennline Aluminum lower dash cover

So I purchased a Rennline Aluminum lower dash cover that was advertised on ebay to fit the year range 1965-1984, but recieved a dash cover made to fit the 1985-1998 range. The seller clearly did not pay attention to the finer details while posting the auction. I would prefer not to have to go through all the trouble of shipping it back and forcing a refund.

What was the major difference between the two year ranges on their dashes? I do not want to remove the piece from it's original plastic packaging and void any return policies or I would do a trial fit to see for myself.

Will I be able to "make it work"?
