Merv,
Here's a list of reputable Porsche body repairers: 1. RJP 622- 624 South Rd, Moorabbin. 3189. Ph: 9555 4540 2. Mr. Gloss 12 -14 Kilpa Rd, Moorabbin. 3189. Ph: 9555 5971 3. Stylemaster Panels 85 Murphy St, Richmond. 3121. Ph: 9428 7911 RJP is the only factory-authorised repairer from that list, and in the state, but the others, I hear, do great work. Hope this helps. MUCH appreciated! Thanks...
Does Loui work for Stylemaster? I think he's the dude that did my 930S Front Spoiler.

Loui Bastelli(sp?) has is own shop in the S/E 'burbs. All of Matts suggestions do good work but frankly be ready to ripped a second ********* from any of them when it comes to handing over the cash.
Depending on the work you need done I would also suggest speaking to Denis Rogers of Carress Panels in Fitzroy (9419 4395). He runs a small business and does a lot of Porsches - has all the factory jigs and is very well regarded generally. I've been down to see him often and there is usually always a mix of classic and modern P' cars in his shop. I will be using him to do some extensive panel work (<>$10K) on my car in the next few months and have checked enough to have personal comfort. Doesn't mind you supplying your own parts or dropping by to see how things are going. There's another guy in Abbotsford who owns Abbotsford Body Repairs who also has all the factory gear and is a member of the club, Lucky Patsiotis. Know nothing about the work he does but might be worth talking to. Good luck.

What shop does Loui Bastelli (sp?) run? Is that the shop on Clayton Rd, closest to Heatherton Rd. Navarone Panels I think?!?!
The reason I ask is because I'm bringing in my own rear bumper, bumper shocks & re-inforcement bar and I want a reputable shop to paint & fit it for me. Getting it from BW Motorsorts in the USA. My car is at Weltmeister/Racecraft Ind. at the moment and a guy called Loui did my front 930S Front Spoiler and the job is just awesome! Anyone know of a good leather upholsterer? I have a 930S Centre Console in fibreglass that I want upholstered in black leather and fitted. I have to move all my air-con switches/controls to the centre console and I also wanna fit my Boost Controller & Intercooler Temp Gauge to the console panel too. Something like this: Any recommendations?

Merv
Just had a quick flick through my Porsche Parade Mag, which I still happen to have on the end of my desk, and I think I was getting mixed up with Charlie Battisti. He's one of the Porsche Accredited repairers and the guy I had I mind. Excellent work and if money is no object well worth speaking to. He's located in Nunawading and the Porsche Centre recommend him. Don't know of a Louie. As far as Motor trimming - I have had very good experience with Blackman’s in Richmond, who years ago did a soft top to my Mum's Benz and retrimmed 2 MG's. Blackman's in Cheltenham (same family different brother), rebuilt my seats, recarpeted and did head ling on my '69. Also good work. The brother in Richmond does tend to do more custom work so I'd probably speak to him first. Cheers,

G'Day David,
I imported it from Better Bodies Motorsport in the USA. It came in a grey fibreglass finish Just a word of warning, I got F'D around by BBM and it took 4 months to get my console!!! I was fuming!!! When I got it, I was shocked at the condition & quality of it. You can hardly call it a nice piece of work. It needs upholstering and may even need modification to fit. Even though I knew it required upholstering, I didn't expect it to be in such crappy condition. Then again, my other option was ProtoTECH (in Florida I think). They make a VERY nice custom 930S COnsole, BUT, be prepared to pay $700 US for it. I just couldn't justify it. Mine cost $169 U.S. BUT, you get what you pay for. I'm just hoping mine will fit in OK and look like a quality fit once done, or else that's money down the drain.

Thanks Merv,
Well I may just let you fit yours before I order one. I gather you will trial fit before the leather goes on. Any photos of the raw console? Nice aluminium accessories - those doore handles look different to most, did you add the black? David

Buy them, sell them

Hmmm.. Merv,
Beware of the reception you might attract at RJP in South Rd, Moorabbin. Unless you bring in a 996, they just don't want to know you. The guy I met was very rude to me, so I left a few months worth of tread on his driveway as I left. I guess what goes around comes around, and last time I drove past, their shop was deserted... ![]()

I will definately trial fit it before getting it upholstered.
Sorry, that pic isn't my car. It's simply an example of how I want my centre console to look (I have the exact same boost controller). However, I've ordered a majority of those aluminium bits from ImagineAuto, along with drilled aluminium pedal set and 'turbo' script side sills. The only difference is that my metal door handles are gloss Black with Gold Porsche emblems on them. They look pretty smart. My aluminium stuff should arrive next week. I'm hanging out for them ![]() Hopefully, my car will be back at the same time and I can fit them all in next weekend, along with my Boost Gauge, clear indicator lenses all round, 100W Fog Bulbs & Relay, 'HeetSheet' Valve Cover Protectors ![]()

Adam, I know of RJP in Moorabbin. I went there a few months back and wanted them to quote me on touching up some stone chips on my boot lid & around my rear fenders and to also fix up some small dings on my doors. They quoted me an unbelievable amount to do this! So I walked.
However, they were nice enough to polish out a streak of yellow paint from my left rear fender where some A.hole swiped my car! Free of charge too, but I did the right thing and gave the guy 20 bucks to get a dozen beers after work ![]()

WynRyd, Paul,
For good, honest -- but cheap -- work, I recommend Sprayworld in Mordialloc. Ph: 9588 1806 It's a one-man band, but the guy, Haydn, is skilful, and has done a couple of Porsches, including mine.
