can anyone tell me how much I am looking at in parts for a top end rebuild on a 78 SC 3.0 ltr? I will be doing the wrenching myself and also how much work is involved?
Thanks ahead< Norm ![]() ------------------ 78 Super Carrera |

I just paid $1250 to EBS to do the machine work and for parts.
Parts included 3way cut on the valve seat Valves Springs Guides and Seals Top end gasket set (which has a ton of gaskets) New Head (mine was cracked from an over rev.) Jon was pretty good to work with so I would recommend them. osidak [This message has been edited by osidak (edited 07-24-2001).] |

it's about a 30 hour job for an experienced shop, which includes the head labor. so you could figure 40-50 hours for the average home mechanic, plus the head repair costs of roughly $1000, for machining, new valves, guides, springs and seals.
