New DD makes P-car drive faster....

Well I sold my beloved well maintained Dinan modded 5 speed '02 330i with sport suspension and 18's etc, etc for an........ X5.

I really loved to drive the crap out of the 330 so when I would jump directly into my mostly stock '88 911 (bypass, sport muf) I was always a bit underwelmed. Dont get me wrong , I love the 911, how it handles and drives but after driving the low and quick 330 I wasnt always impressed with the difference.

Now that I drive a big heavy X5 with slush box, the 911 feels like the go kart that it is! Its such a strange feeling that it feels quicker and just all around different after being so conditioned to the 330.

So if you drive a small fast car and want your old 911 to drive faster, just buy a truck and save the $$ on performance upgrades!

Pic of the old 330 and my 911:

Good advice LOL, my turbo diesel Landcruiser performs the task admirably...I bet even better, than an X5. I'm sure it has saved me thousands of dollars in upgrades.Cheers

Hahaa! What about using a 72 bug as a daily! That might make the 911 feel really amazing!

You should drive a pickup truck as a DD that drives like a frigin boat.. then jump on the 911 and believe me... you will smile :)

i drove over the road for several years. step out of a 70 foot long, 80,000 pound, and 13 speed truck and into a 911 for the full effect of this phenomenon.

In terms of straight line speed, my old X5 4.4 sport was pretty darn quick. In fact, it wasn't that much slower than my 911.
