please help: how to reconnect the power window switches
Could someone please tell me how to reconnect the 2 power window switches on the driver's side on an 81 SC? I disconnected them and now I don't know how to reconnect the wires. The left switch has 5 wires: 2 red, 2 blue with black stripe and 1 brown. The one on the right I can't tell the color of the wires because I can't pulll them out :D I assume the one on the right is for the switch for the passenger's window. I would follow the same procedure for both, I hope.
Any help you could give, I truly appreciate it. Thankshttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1321847309.jpg |

Don't know if the terminals are numbered.....but looking at that thread....weird.
Single pole on top is 5 5 2 1 4 3 Let me know, this has my interest. Oh yeah, disconnect the battery when hooking this up. |
On the back of my switch, the terminals are numbered. they go like this:
3 1 (bottom) 2 (top) 4 (bottom) 5 (top) Hmm that pattern does not match with yours :( |
NOT my pic, this from an 87 cab on another thread.....noted in my post #6.
Here's a pic of how the passenger side window switch is wired: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1251065066.jpg |
5 Red/Black
2 Blue Black-1Blue 4 Brown -3Red/White Matching the pic above.....now, realize I'm using Bentley that has known errors, and someone else's pic..... |
There are pictures of the switches in my wife's 82 SC in my thread "Dave's Adventures in Door Panels". See here:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/640105-daves-adventures-door-panels.html --The pic that Joe Bob (hi Z!) has above pretty much matches the switch in the driver's door for the passenger window of my wife's car. The other switch has red wires for the two middle pins on the switch. --DD |
Hi Dave....driver side switches....BOTH of them have a set of doubles.
The one pictured is ALL singles......meaning it's located in the passenger door. |
