Q: vacuum lines 3.6 on 84

dropped the 3.6 off my 84 for tranny work. got bored and started to mess with wiring and gunk.

would like to ask few questions...

am i right that this is a vacuum line that goes toward the front, ie brake booster?

the line came off here, right by the throttle:

when the car got 3.6 while back ago, my mechanic left this line from carbon canister disconnected. should i leave like like this or should i connect to somewhere and if so where should i connect this to? to vacuum?

RE: the top picture brake booster - on my 87 3.2 the white plastic tee, the left 12 mm hose goes to the brake booster, the 4 mm hose goes to the cruise control, and the hose to the right goes to the venturi tube - J tube assembly, shown below.

thanks for your input.

i also acknowledge my lack of patience and search skills.
