Rennline floor boards and Lloyd mats

I just purchased some new Llyod mats and was wondering if it's possible to install the rennline floor board (Kick plate) on the passanger side over the top of the mat. What I'd like to do is place the mat in position and then install the floor board over the top. Will it bolt in place with the mats underneath? Thanks

Are you talking about the dead pedal or the actual floor board? You should have no problem at all.
I have that set up on my car though I made my own floor board. All I did was not install the carpet and just lay the mat directly on the floor. The Lloyd slides under the bottom of the dead pedal. It is a tight fit and holds the mat in place

Perfect!! That looks great!!! Does anyone know how the passenger side fitment is? I want to install a floor board on that side also. If I recall correctly the passenger mat is alot longer and runs up underneath the dash some.

I don't think the floorboard will fit over the Lloyd floormat.

Just so we are clear the floor board does NOT go over the mat. I did not put the carpet down (for weight) so you can see part of my floor board. On the passenger side you can not see the floor board because the mat hides or protects 85% of it.
I would not recommend installing either floor boards over the mat or carpet.
There are lots of guys on here who run with out any carpet or mats so you can clearly see the nice Rennline boards.

the floorboard on the passenger side attaches at the bottom, right where the mat runs. The mat would also interfere with the attachment point at the top of the floorboard. You'd have to cut up the mat for that to work. I guess it might depend on which lloyds mats you get though. I have the thick ones and I don't think there's any way you'd be able to get them to fit under the rennline floor board.

I just did this on my RHD. I wanted to do the same thing but the M6 thread attached to the floor wasn't long enough.

I used a 15mm long coupling nut, drilled a small hole in the carpet and then attached the floorboard with a shorter M6 bolt.

It should still fit in. The boards or carpet shouldn't interfere.

Rennline Floorboards and Mats

I have Rennline floorboards also. Although I probably could have laid the mats in place and installed the floorboards on top, I don't think I would have been able to remove them without removing the floorboards first.

When I get a new set of mats I plan to mark them to fit and bring them to an upholsterer to cut and sew on new carpet piping.

I have an old set in the car now, cut to fit, but not worth getting the piping sewn on.

Just another option.

Good luck,

Gordo
