Exhaust Opinions for Future Street Rod / Track Car

Been going over some exhaust scenarios and thought I'd kick it to the Pelican experts for feedback.

I recently picked up a 1980 Euro 930 Turbo that need some love. Actually, she's needs a bit more than love. I'm pulling the 3.3 motor, turbo and tranny and going to rebuild it entirely (I'm a newbie at this so it's going to take me a while). In the meantime, a 3.2 / 915 is going in (thanks to a fellow Pelican member). The 3.2 has a Steve Wong chip but I'm looking to squeeze a bit more HP out of the motor if at all possible. Anyone know of a proper exhaust system that would do me right?

My best guess now is to go with the Fabspeed. Seems pretty nice. If anyone has other (cheaper) ideas, they would be appreciated.

Awesome, thank you.

Does anyone one have any suggestions for bad ass exhaust systems? Looking for little HP boost and a robust sound.

I've had the Fabspeed one in dual out muffler with a MK premuffler and SW chip on my 89 for the past three years and it's a great combination !
The Fabspeed fit and finish is excellent ... despite what some may have experienced in the past ...

Cheers !

I think the biggest question is "is there a good exhaust that is legal in California."

From just bolting a muffler on a 3.2L, I don't think you're going to get much if any HP. You'll get more noise, but that's probably about it. If you want more power, you're going to have to get a bit more radical.

Normally, SSIs and a sport muffler are recommended for power and hot rod. Of course, that means no catalytic converter.

I'd look into Hayward & Scott. Their exhaust looks very interesting. I'd like to know more about their exhaust systems. Maybe someone else will chime in on their product. Seems like ssi is too small for a 3.2 ( I personally want heat). Any further mods to a 3.2 or larger ssi seems limiting.

I failed to see cheaper as an option. Maybe a nice set of used headers.
