Question about rev limiting rotor

I changed my cap & rotor today (on my '74 2.7 CIS).

I was comparing the old rotor to the new and I noticed that the old rotor said 7100 rpm on it and the new says 6500. My engine was rebuilt to S specs by a very competant porsche engine builder and I'm wondering if I should be using the higher 7100 rev limiter. The question is, where do I get one as there was only one choice on Pelican.

I've lost touch with the original builder of this car so I can't ask him.

for the record, I don't usually rev the engine that high and the rev limiter has never kicked in.

I would run the 6500, not much to be gained with an xtra 500 rpm except a lot of stress on the mag case....

You aren't making much torque above 6,500 anyway, so you are better off shifting at or below that figure in terms of performance.

However, if you are still bent on doing this, just adjust your rotor. You see how it works - inertia moves the short circuit contact outward against the resistance provided by the spring. The spring's fixed end attaches to a post. Bend the post outward to increase the "seat" pressure.
