Losing power while accelerating

As the weather has gotten colder I have noticed a problem with accelerating in second gear.

When accelerating with wot in second gear, I'm losing power at 3k rpm. After a few seconds it recovers. It's like it isn't getting enough fuel at that moment

Cant make it happen in other gears so far and only seems to happen when gas pedal is to the floor

Coil is about 10k miles old and plugs/wires are 15k miles old.

Any ideas why only in 2nd gear or what could be ? Thanks

IŽd change the fuel filter and see what happens. Sounds like its clogged to me

I change it about 8,000 miles ago but I'll do it again

Wouldn't I get the hesitation in other gears at wot if it was a clog?

Check the timing, maybe the vac advance.

I got a batch of dirty petrol once. It was most noticeable in second and third gear. Changed the filter and it seemed to fix the problem. Like many such 911 niggles its a case of solving the problem by elimination

a bunch of threads like this lately, a search might be your best friend. IIRC, the most recent poster found his problem at the throttle stop switch and made a simple adjustment.
