1985 911 Carrera Targa driver's window
A friend's car. He said that window went down with a 'clunk', and then wouldn't close. I did not try it before taking the door panel off, but once off, it works fine. The only problem is that the glass is about 3/8" too high when raised/closed. I pulled up on the glass to make sure that it is firmly in the lower track, and it is.
FWIW: it's obvious this panel has been off in the past, and is in poor shape. It also appears that the glass has been re-glued into the track, or maybe the regulator was replaced...? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, in particular, how to stop the window at the right height. |
