good ebay deal?

This seems like a good deal. Early body with turbo flares and a twin plug 3.2L engine with webers. $10,000 with buy-it-now.

Price is a bit low if only thing wrong is the clutch. The motor, if in good condition, is worth over half the asking price.

Sure looks nice but would waste an airline ticket there to check on it or get someone in the area to check it out first.

Leaving aside the abomination of turbo flares, much less vented turbo flares, or any early car but especially a Targa...

The car was obviously built for autocross, and odds are that the sale is being done as an alternative to a engine rebuild.

Repeat after me...

"There is NO such thing as a good deal."

you say it

"There is NO SUCH THING as a good deal."

good.

Now one more if you are dealing with sponsors...

"Money on the wood makes the deal good."

That is how I got lucky and bought my 86. The person did not know much about EBAY, they put a small add, little discriptions and one picture. Turns out the car flew passed a tech inspection and was a great deal! I see everyone here bagging on EBAY all the time, but in my opinion, its a great deal and if you do everything to cover yourself, then whats the harm.

When I finally went out to pick up my turbo , I thought I was Mr Big, flying into LA to pick up my Porsche... Well it turns out the guy had about 20 mil worth of cars on his lot, Diablo's some rear enginge Jag worth 400K and some cars I never seen before, my 25k for a Prrsche was chump change to him. At least I taught him how do to EBAY sales, now his ads are impressive, detailed and lots of pics.

Heck if you like the car, bid on it, have it inspected and if there is more than what is stated, back out, its your right.

Just my opinion...
