Another rim polish question...
So, I've read many posts here about the practice of polishing up the Fuchs wheel. Most tend to gravitate toward the do it yourself method, or the practice of sending it off to Mr. Weidman (or other, well known p-car wheel specialist).
So- For the guy who lives in Wisconsin, who doesn't want to take the chance on messing up a perfectly good (but 25-yr-old, and weathered) original wheels - I ask you this (and also don't like the idea of shipping four wheels both to and from California): Has anyone heard of, or used a semi tractor rim polishing service for doing the rims? Incidentally, I'm interested in only the lip being polished. I'm thinking of having the centers painted at the same time / same color as the car. Any experiences and/or advice appreciated. Also- The rims currently have the factory anodizing, with some minor scarring. Most of this is where someone scraped wheel weights off at some previous time. If anodizing was perfect - I'd be thrilled with repaint on centers only. Truth be told, I like the subtle, non-polished appearance on the lips the best. Thanks again. |

Well, you have hot rodders that have old school aluminum and alloy wheels. Call around and see if there is a shop local that has done them before. Also 18 wheelers have bling.....
Polishing wheels isn't rocket science.
