Picture of a burning RS

Not mine, just saw this in a local newspaper. It happened last Friday not far from where I am living (South of Germany). They say it is (or actually was) a 150 KEuro 1973 RS. What a pity!!

Cheers, Markus

Oh man what a bummer for the owner.

Markus,
Any idea what the serial number is on this car? If not, any German Porsche forums that might have more info? Thanks.

PS I sure wish this was 1316. I would love to see that car go up in smoke, without the owner inside of course.

...but we all know it would come back after another re-tub only with a better story this time.

Do hate to see that nevertheless.

Sorry, no idea about the VIN. But I will follow it and let you know as soon as I find out any more details. And thanks for the 1316 story which was new to me...

Cheers, Markus

Only folks close to the Mexican border are supposed to know that trick and certainly not Europeans.

Good point but most people think this will never happen to them.

Oh yea and, CHECK YOUR FUEL LINES!

Our cars are getting old. You can never be too careful.

The wheels don't appear to be correct for an RS, they look like
later 16s.

Carry a fire extinguisher people!

Safety First? . . . .

Apparently not.

All that money in the car . . . . and The Ding-a-Ling can't/didn't spring for a $75 extinguisher. Hope his insurance coverage is better than his safety-sense.

How many Other Ding-a-Lings are out there . . . . running 'round without either?
