new 964 Owner ALARM IS BEEPING WON"T SHUT OFF!!
I'm a new 1990 Tip 964 Cabriolet C2 owner.
Have put only 100km on the car. Fun. Yep! I have noticed a few little things. Airbag light is on, and the airspeed decklid sometimes rises or doesn't. I was going to bring it into a shop to have it scanned and looked at to have the airbag light turned off or reset. But I only had one key, and it was pretty worn. So I went to a locksmith and had a few new keys made. I tested the new key yesterday and it worked fine. Car ran for ten minutes, and i locked it back up. Today I started the car with the new key, and moved the car to get my other car out and then when I turned the car off and shut the door the Alarm came on. I tried to lock and unlock the doors, Alarm stayed on. I restarted the car, Alarm stayed on. I put it in gear moved it back and forth, Still alarm is going. pushed the central locking button, Alarm still going. Tried locking the doors, unlocking, I honked the horn to see if it was a stuck horn, and that beeped but the alarm was still constant. My ears were now starting to hurt, So I just unplugged the battery terminal and the car is sitting currently with positive terminal unplugged. Do you know what this could be? How to fix it? Do you know how to disable it. If i connect the battery terminal the alarm would come on again. I've read some posts about modules and doors not locking, but mine all work, its just the alarm wont turn off. Please advise.

Is it the factory alarm or one of those god-awful Clifford deals?
The factory alarm can be diagnosed with the PST-2 or Bosch Hammer diagnostic tools.

Could it possibly be the key? I know of someone with a Mini Cooper that had keys made locally and experience the same issue with the alarm. Turned out that Mini has laser-cut keys and somehow the car knew the difference. Now that was a Mini and NOT a 1990 C2, but the similar circumstance reminded me of the key issue with that mini. Sounds crazy, but try reconnecting the battery and use the old key to unlock, start, whatever.
On my old '87 Benz 560SL, the keys still have to be ordered from the dealer and they come from the factory. Might it be the same thing with Porsche?

Ok So today I disconnected the battery. Waited ten minutes, Reconnected and alarm was off. This is the Factory Alarm.
So now time to test the keys. Both Factory key and new key are the same result. Passenger side door lock works fine. I can unlock it and then I can use the central lock button to relock the car and it arms. The Car can be started that way too. I can open the Drivers door when I unlock the car from the passenger door. But as soon as the car is alarmed and I try and disarm and open the drivers door. Alarm goes off. Not any flashing lights, just the horn. It has been raining the last few weeks and the car has been outside. I read another post where someone was experiencing the same thing on the drivers door but there was no solution. A little help?
