Question 1970 T oil getting in air filter housing-why?

Does anyone know why you would get engine oil from the oil tank on a 70'-T up the vent hose and spill into the air cleaner housing?? It will do it when running and the nose of the car is elevated (not steep and the tank is not overfilled)

Do you have a restrictor in the oil return line? How do you describe 'overfilled'?

I keep mine below the 1/2 mark.

overfilled, even though you said no.
sometimes filled is just too much oil for the age/condition of the engine.
i NEVER fill mine to the top mark. usually to 1/2.

that, and blowby. the oil vapor collects in the filter housing. that's why there's a drain.

The system only had 9qts at the time, front wheels were up on 6" blocks for some work on a fuel and the "restrictor" was in the vent line. I assume the restrictor is in there to limit this from occuring? engine has a few miles, belongs to my son. thank for the replies. 911 skooter

9qts, but did you check the oil level with the engine running, hot and level?
