My wife's boss said on his old 930 turbo that he drilled a hole in the _______ (was not paying that much attention) I could get more boost out of the turbo. Does anyone know of this? Is he full of do-do? If it is true what harm will become of such a mod?
Thanks in advance,

Yeah, drill the hole in the pressure pipe going to wastegate bell and it will boost more....
Not very clever tough...overboost switch will probably save the engine from detonating, but there are smarter devices for this.

when you get rid of the bypass valve and install a long neck intercooler, the turbo can stall between shifts because the throttle is closed for a moment and the pressure build up against it slows the airflow and thus, the impeller. generally, this is not noticed if you don't granny-shift. some folks drill a hole in the throttle plate to reduce this phenomenon. going to the C2 turbo bypass valve in the curved boot at the sensor plate diminishes the need to do that.
