ACK! Lost the CO screw!

Dad's 80 SC. Engine rebuilt last year. Runs GREAT. A little rich in idle. So, he unscrews the CO screw. Still running rich at idle. Cold start- runs great, warm-up runs great, hot driving runs great.

The problem, of course, is emissions. It does not pass the idle emissions test. CO too rich. Unscrew the screw...

now it's not there! Apparently, he unscrewed it SO much it came out... where did that bugger go?

I suspect the fuel pressure is too high, or he has leaking injectors. He doesn't want to go through the fuel-injection pressure test. I think he will take it to a local mechanic.

He is in Bakersfield, CA. We tried, Partsheaven, and Tweeks, and another yard down his way, I forgot the name.
To top it off, he can't find JUST THE CO screw! Anyone know where to get just the CO screw, without having to buy the whole CIS head unit?

TIA

If you are talking about the air/fuel adjusting screw in the air flow sensor, it is probably sitting on the operating lever. With the ignition off try bouncing the lever up and down to see if it will drop off.

If it falls of with the engine running, especial under high RPM's it could get sucked into the intake and destroy a piston or valve.
