Question about Engine Compartment Light Retaining Screws
Does anyone know the setup for the engine light retaining screws? I see the bar on the engine lid for holding the light. It looks like some type of body nut and screw would the setup for holding the light. I am looking in the parts catalog but do not see the part listed.
Also, a pic would be helpful Thanks, Chuck |
ANy help??? If someone has pics then that would help also. I am looking for the engine compartment light and how it attaches to the engine lid.

I believe they are just two sheet metal screws and a couple of speed nuts holding it on to the little cross bar.

Nope, I have the light already. I need to see how it is attached. The Porsche parts catalog does not have the screws or the nuts. |

The PET for my 87 model uses speed nut 999-507-028-02, and tapping screw N-014-093-3, the size is 4.2x13.

I cannot understand how this light is mounted. Is there a support of some thing behind those mounting screws?
|
The light has two components a housing and a back.
|
How is the back attached to the rear engine lid?
|
Sorry my camera is not at hand...but here is what my '89 3.2 has. The lamp assembly is held to two cross pieces that are spot welded to the rib.
On my car which is totally original the lamp housing is mounted with two sheet metal screws using two speed nuts. David |
I guess I won't be able to mount mine the same way, since I have a fiberglass deck lid.
