Tie Rod ends question
Hi Guys,
I just discovered both tie rod ends are shot on my 85 Carrera. I would buy the entire "turbo tie rod kit", but money's a little tight right now so I may just buy the 2 ends. If I do, can I get the "turbo" ends only, or do you have to have the turbo tie rod for the turbo tie rod ends to work? If that's the case I would just go with the stock non-turbo ends. Thanks in advance, Mark

you can't use the turbo ends with the non-turbo tie rod parts. you need the whole turbo tie rods.

You can go with the standard tie rod ends and they will probably go for another 27 years. When I replaced my tie rods with turbo tie rods, the only thing worn were the tie rod ends and the rubber grease seals. The rest of the tie rod assembly appeared to very tight and undamaged.

Thanks guys. I think the budget dictates just getting the stock ends for now. I appreciate the help.
Mark.
